HEALTH CARE SERVICE
The Finnish Student Health Care Service (FSHS) provides preventive health care, medical care, dental care and mental health services for student union members.
Bring your student card or study certificate with you when visiting FSHS.

New Students
FSHS invites new students for a health inspection and an oral and dental examination during the first or second study year. The inspection is voluntary and the tests are free of charge.
How to get there
The FSHS reception in Helsinki is at Töölönkatu 37 A. When you come from the city centre, take tram number 4, 7B or 10. It is a five-minute walk from the Opera House stop.
PSYCHOLIST AND UNIVERSITY PASTOR
The psychologist is available for appointments twice a month during reception hours. The times are announced separately for each term. Students can discuss all matters that may weigh on their mind, such as studies or long-term plans. The service is free of charge to the students and teachers of the Academy.
The university pastor is available for discussion at the Academy once a week. Appointments can be arranged at other times as well. For more information, see the COURSE CATALOGUE.
NYYTI RY
NYYTI ry is a special preventive mental health care service for students where you can, for example, discuss your problems.

STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Applying for a HOAS apartment -
Who can apply?
All full-time university, institution of higher education, polytechnic, upper secondary school or vocational institution students in the metropolitan area are entitled to apply for HOAS apartments. The term 'full-time student' applies if your studies are worth at least 22,5 ECTS credits per year. You can apply for an apartment as soon as your acceptance to your place of study has been confirmed. However, you must not apply more than 4 months before you can accept an apartment. The application is valid for four months, and you must renew the application before it expires. Before signing a tenancy agreement the information relating to your studies will be checked. Tenants are required to present a certificate of their attendance issued by the educational institution.
