Galleries and exhibitions

The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts has three gallery spaces in central Helsinki. These galleries enjoy a high reputation within the fine arts field in Finland and are key players in the Helsinki gallery scene.

The galleries provide students with an opportunity to show work in a real gallery environment. Most exhibitions form part of the BFA or MFA students' degree studies. The Degree Show, organised in May-June, is the highlight of the annual gallery programme.

In addition, the Academy collaborates with various Finnish and international organisations by taking part in numerous other exhibitions and projects every year. A small but lively community, the Academy provides ample opportunities for national and international networking for the artists of tomorrow.

The biannual gallery brochure (in Finnish) is available electronically and the autumn 2011 edition can be downloaded here.
